“Cooking is an art…”

“Cooking is an art and patience a virtue… Careful shopping, fresh ingredients and an unhurried approach are nearly all you need. There is one more thing – love. Love for food and love for those you invite to your table. With a combination of these things you can be an artist – not perhaps in the representational style of a Dutch master, but rather more like Gauguin, the naïve, or Van Gogh, the impressionist. Plates or pictures of sunshine taste of happiness and love.”
~ Keith Floyd – a British chef and television personality who hosted numerous cooking shows for the BBC

Shopping For Kitchen Appliances

For most people, buying a new kitchen appliance or a washer/dryer is not a frequent experience.  It’s not like choosing a restaurant for lunch today.  A lot is at stake here….You need to feel confident that you can find a good selection of product, that the company is reputable, and that the staff is qualified to meet your needs.  In my humble opinion, A-1 Appliance is your best choice!  (Disclaimer: I have been a member of the sales staff at A-1 Appliance for over 15 years) 🙂

We have an incredible selection of appliances in all categories!  You may find inspiration in the Wolf/SubZero Living Kitchen, or in our live Jenn-Air kitchen.

For more ideas, venture upstairs to our Bosch/Thermador gallery, or to our Electrolux kitchen.  On any given day, you may find us baking cookies in our Miele kitchen….yummy, it sure smells good at A-1 Appliance!

Do you need to learn about magnetic induction cooking?  I can show you how with a quick demo!  I love to boil ice….yes, I said ICE.  I put a scoop of ice in the pan, and within 90 seconds I have boiling water!

Not only does A-1 Appliance have a great showroom, we also have an in-house service department.  Do you need to talk with a service technician?  We can do that!  We have our own delivery and installation team.  You may have a very complicated installation issue.  If you need on site assistance in the planning stage…we can do that!  WOW….A-1 Appliance has a great sales staff too.  We offer an educational experience at A-1….we create APPLIANCE HAPPINESS!

5 Reasons To Upgrade Your Kitchen Appliances

Look for this logo when considering your new r...

Earth Day 2012 is coming up April 22, which made me think about getting  new, energy efficient appliances.  Here are some of the reasons I’ve used to convince myself that this is a good idea.

First, most new appliances are Energy Star compliant.  This means that you will save a significant amount of electricity, and in the case of washing machines and dishwashers, a significant amount of water, resulting in lower utility bills.  Here is a link to a very useful site to calculate your energy savings….I think you will be surprised:

The second, and similar reason, is increased efficiency.   Saving time, as well as money, is very important to me.  In most families, doing the laundry is not among the favorite chores, yet we all want clean clothes and fresh towels & bedding.  For example, the new Electrolux wave touch washer featuring perfect steam and an enormous 4.42 cu.ft. capacity stainless steel wash tub can save you both time and money.  Add the 8.0 cu.ft. steam dryer and save even more!

Third, adding new appliances will add to the value of your home.  Remodeling the kitchen is at the top of the list when you decide to sell your  home.  Here is a great article on the return on investment you can expect from various projects around the house:

Fourth, new appliances can be better for your family.  For example, lack of time can sometimes lead to a “fast food” diet- high in sugar and sodium.  What if you could prepare healthy meals 4 to 8 times faster than cooking in your old oven?  You can with the amazing GE Advantium oven.  By combining the power of convection baking with microwave energy, you will save time and money, while serving your family a healthy meal.  Check out this useful site from General Electric:

And fifth, don’t forget personal enjoyment of new product features.  If you are like most people, you have not purchased a new appliance in many years.  Take it from me, they have changed a lot!  For example, are you living with a noisy dishwasher?  Many new models are virtually silent!

I hope you will stop by A-1 Appliance and let me show you how you can start saving time and money today!  Our website is  http://www.a1appliance.com/

I look forward to meeting you!

Frequently Asked Questions With Answers By GE

I’ve been thinking lately about the questions we hear frequently in the sales and service departments at A-1 Appliance.  Finding new ways of communicating the answers between departments, as well as to our customers, is the purpose of this blog entry.

One way would be to post links to sites that answer questions.  Today I would like to highlight the GE website:

This site organizes the answers by general information and by appliance type, i.e., wall oven, dishwasher, range, etc.
