Earth Day 2012 is coming up April 22, which made me think about getting new, energy efficient appliances. Here are some of the reasons I’ve used to convince myself that this is a good idea.
First, most new appliances are Energy Star compliant. This means that you will save a significant amount of electricity, and in the case of washing machines and dishwashers, a significant amount of water, resulting in lower utility bills. Here is a link to a very useful site to calculate your energy savings….I think you will be surprised:
The second, and similar reason, is increased efficiency. Saving time, as well as money, is very important to me. In most families, doing the laundry is not among the favorite chores, yet we all want clean clothes and fresh towels & bedding. For example, the new Electrolux wave touch washer featuring perfect steam and an enormous 4.42 cu.ft. capacity stainless steel wash tub can save you both time and money. Add the 8.0 cu.ft. steam dryer and save even more!
Third, adding new appliances will add to the value of your home. Remodeling the kitchen is at the top of the list when you decide to sell your home. Here is a great article on the return on investment you can expect from various projects around the house:
Fourth, new appliances can be better for your family. For example, lack of time can sometimes lead to a “fast food” diet- high in sugar and sodium. What if you could prepare healthy meals 4 to 8 times faster than cooking in your old oven? You can with the amazing GE Advantium oven. By combining the power of convection baking with microwave energy, you will save time and money, while serving your family a healthy meal. Check out this useful site from General Electric:
And fifth, don’t forget personal enjoyment of new product features. If you are like most people, you have not purchased a new appliance in many years. Take it from me, they have changed a lot! For example, are you living with a noisy dishwasher? Many new models are virtually silent!
I look forward to meeting you!
